Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST)

Issue:

MetaDefender Drive boots the laptop up successfully but there is no disk found under “Disk Status and Remediation”

Root cause:

Some laptops (and desktops too) have Intel RST enabled and that prevents MetaDefender Drive from detecting and accessing storage

Solutions:

  • go to its BIOS and find the SATA configuration section
  • if there is something like RAID ON, please switch it to AHCI
  • plug MD Drive and try to boot into Drive again, then analyze your system as needed
  • after that, please go to BIOS again to set SATA configuration back to the previous state before booting into Windows
