MetaDefender Transfer Guard Introduction
Please, notice that the process to update from 1.7.X to 2.0.0 is different than the normal process explained in the Updates section. Please, refer to support in order to update to version 2.0.0.
MetaDefender Transfer Guard provides unilateral inter-zone file transfer across the zones. The zones are referred to as Source (BLUE) and Destination (RED) and are joined by an optic fiber. This fiber facilitates the transfer of non-routable data between the zones. No direct network connection exists and no pertinent network information (IP address, MAC address) is exchanged.

The optical fiber performs galvanic isolation between the two computers. One end of the optical fiber is connected to an optical transmitter on the Transmit side of the computer in the source domain, and the other end of the optical fiber is connected to an optical receiver on the Receive side of the computer in the destination domain.
The laws of physics, therefore, guarantee 100% isolation between the two computers, and eliminate any possibility of data flow through the computers from the untrusted domain to the trusted domain.
MetaDefender Transfer Guard features
MetaDefender Transfer Guard provides the following features:
- No network connection between inner network and outer network.
- Up to 10Gbit/sec transfer rate using optic fiber.
- Full Protocol Break: Data Payload Only and data traffic physically enforced in one way only.
- TPM support.
MetaDefender Transfer Guard components
MetaDefender Transfer Guard consists of the following components:
- MetaDefender Transfer Guard BLUE and RED UI: UI used to configure MetaDefender Transfer Guard nodes and transfer parameters.
- MetaDefender Transfer Guard appliances: Collects and transfers customer files. Each appliance consists of a 1U server. One appliance services the source zone (MetaDefender Transfer Guard BLUE) and the other services the destination zone (MetaDefender Transfer Guard RED).
