Why is MetaDefender Managed File Transfer unable to see workflows from MetaDefender Core?
This article applies to all MetaDefender Managed File Transfer releases deployed on Windows.
Issue:
MetaDefender Managed File Transfer (MFT) was not working. Specifically, the MFT could not see any workflows from MetaDefender Core (MD Core).
Resolution:
If MD Core workflows are assigned to a specific Security zone, and that Security zone does not include MFT’s IP address, then MFT cannot see the workflows.
- If that’s the case, you will need to add the IP address of the MFT server to the Security zone settings on MD Core. This action resolves the issue by allowing the MFT to see workflows and function properly.
Additionally, you should ensure the MD Core’s API key used in the integration with MFT is correct.
Steps:
- Check which Security zone the MD Core workflow is using:

- Add the IP address of the MFT server to the Security zone settings on MD Core:

- (Optional) Double check that the API key used to manage MD Core integration is correct in MFT integrations settings
