How To Troubleshoot the issue when MetaDefender Managed File Transfer service is not accessible
This article applies to all MetaDefender Managed File Transfer releases deployed on Windows systems.
If the MetaDefender Managed File Transfer web UI is inaccessible through your browser, resulting in a 502 Bad Gateway error, the root cause is likely one of the following:
The your firewall is blocking the server, in which case the solution is to:
- Add the server to your firewall’s allowlist.
You are attempting to access the web UI from different machine, in which case the solution is to:
- Open the 8010 web UI port (default).
Your MetaDefender Managed File Transfer install failed or was interrupted, in which case there are two possible solutions:
- Fix your MetaDefender Managed File Transfer install
- Reinstall MetaDefender Managed File Transfer.
Check if the MetaDefender Managed File Transfer REST service is running.
