MetaDefender Cloud Hash Reputation Database Now Exceeds 40 Billion

It is our great pleasure to announce that the MetaDefender Cloud hash reputation database has exceeded 40 billion entries, making it one of the world's largest collections of both clean and malicious hashes available to the public.

This was achieved with a lot of effort targeted towards multiple hash collection mechanisms including but not limited to collaboration with customers, community users, Chrome extension users, industry partnerships with many security vendors (including Webroot, Kaspersky, Avira, McAfee, Vxintel, AV-Test, Microsoft, and many others), internal OPSWAT programs, as well as importing hash lists (e.g., NIST NSRL). All of these efforts combined over the past 8 years have enabled us to collect a staggering 40+ billion hashes. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the organizations who have shared data with us!

We have invested so much time and effort in building this huge database because we want to offer a high-quality service to our users. In this case, quality is measured by the hit ratio when searching for file hashes using our service.

Our mission is to create a comprehensive threat intelligence cloud service. Our efforts are not stopping here, we will continue to collect more hashes to build the world’s largest hash reputation database! The greatest increase we have seen has happened in the past year, that’s why we invite any organization that has tested our service in the past to try it out again now.

We provide access to the hashes via our Reputation API and Threat Intelligence Feed. These hashes are offered via a subscription to our service starting at $100/month. It is one of the most affordable services in the market. To learn more, including custom quotes, contact us today. For pricing details visit our licensing page.
