What You Will Be Doing

  • Work with Product Management group to deliver cloud applications for OPSWAT's MetaAccess product; 
  • use technologies (Core Java, Spring Framework, UNIX, Windows, Git, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, Docker, Sass) for cloud based projects; 
  • implement core system (server-side); 
  • design database structures; 
  • work with web servers (Nginx, Tomcat); 
  • use databases (MongoDB, Memcached); 
  • participate in technical areas of back/front-end web development; 
  • assess product requirement documents from Product Manager; 
  • adhere to best practices of OPSWAT's cloud based applications; contribute/build OPSWAT's next generation of products; 
  • write C++ code to implement new features; 
  • work with existing code base to fix bugs; 
  • research feasibility of implementations as proof of concepts; 
  • assist with manual QA of other team members' work; 
  • assist/improve automation efforts; 
  • perform hands-on software development; 
  • work on all phases of development cycle, (requirements, design, implementation, testing, production deployment, and field-issue debugging, fixes); 
  • document technical work; 
  • provide documentation (functional requirements/specifications, design documents, implementation documents, in-line comments); 
  • estimate engineering efforts; 
  • plan implement, and roll out software releases; 
  • drive on-time delivery and high quality in software development work; 
  • participate in system-level architectures and design; 
  • interact with other engineers to define interfaces and understand dependencies; 
  • provide mentorship to junior team members (design and implementation techniques); 
  • isolate/fix stability/reliability issues in time-critical environment; 
  • work with QA and engineers in development of automated testing tools; 
  • work with customer support;
  • provide 2nd level assistance to resolve technical issues; and support related functions (product requirements development, QA, customer implementation).   

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science plus 1 year experience. Experience to include implementing core system (server-side); designing database structures; using Spring Framework, Core Java, NodeJS, AngularJS, Sass for engineering projects; working with web servers (Nginx, Tomcat); and using databases (MongoDB, Memcached).
