The Position

Contribute to and build OPSWAT’s next generation of products; design and implement features for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux; identify, record, and remedy software defects and participate in code reviews using Assembly (x86, MIPS), C, Object Oriented programming; work with entire development cycle phase (requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment and field-issue debugging); use HTML (4, 5), ASP, ASP.NET (2.0, 4.0), and DBMS: SQL Server (2000, 2005); collaborate with QA to identify, record and remedy software defects; participate in code reviews; collaborate with product marketing and offshore teams; design, implement and deliver applications in security field; perform software development as individual contributor in all phases of development cycle (requirements, design, implementation, testing, product deployment, field-issue debugging); document technical work; provide documentation (functional requirements/specifications, design documents, implementation documents, in-line comments); estimate engineering efforts, plan implementation, and rollout software releases; ensure on-time delivery and high quality in software development work; participate in system-level architecture; perform design and interact with engineers to define interfaces and understand dependencies; work with team engineers; promote team-work; provide mentorship to junior team members in design and implementation techniques; identify and resolve stability/reliability issues in time-critical environment; work with QA and engineers in development of automated testing tools; work with customer support; provide second-level assistance in resolving technical issues; support related functions (product requirements development, QA, customer implementation); and will supervise others.

Job Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering plus 1 year experience.  Experience to include identifying, recording, and remedying software defects; participating in code reviews [Assembly (x86, MIPS), C, Object Oriented programming]; working with entire development cycle phase (requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment and field-issue debugging) and using HTML (4, 5), ASP, ASP.NET (2.0, 4.0), and DBMS: SQL Server (2000, 2005).
