Senior Network Engineer

San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design and maintain our global network infrastructure that supports the company and the lifecycle of our cybersecurity products. Our Senior Network Engineer analyzes what’s working and what isn’t and drives improvements related to performance and security enhancements. This position is responsible for our internet services providers, firewalls, routers, switches, network storage, servers, cyber security software, intrusion detection and prevention countermeasures.

The position requires the ability to work independently to manage and complete both support and project tasks in a timely manner. The Senior Network Engineer reports to the Director of IT and works within a global IT team to support product owners, software engineers, and our customer support team.  Remote employee may be considered.

What you will be doing

  • Designing and implementing both the physical and wireless networks, including those for computer communications and telecommunications
  • Maintaining network performance
  • Troubleshooting network problems
  • Researching and integrating new technologies into the network lifecycle
  • Interfacing with other teams to manage or assist problems
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer infrastructure, particularly emphasizing:
  • Private Cloud Infrastructures
  • Corporate Infrastructures
  • AWS Infrastructures & Google Cloud Platform
  • Interactions between the software and the network
  • Network integrity and resilience
  • Cyber Security
  • Testing networks for weaknesses or potential sites of compromise
  • Staying abreast of necessary updates
  • Implementing security programs with hardware and software
  • Managing and resolve issues with ISPs and vendors around the world
  • Basic and advanced networking administration, including switching, routing and firewalls.
  • Managing production workloads in AWS
  • Implementing and supporting intrusion detection and prevention solutions
  • Perform Network and Systems security tests to identify and resolve network vulnerabilities.

What we need from you

  • Minimum of eight years of hands-on experience with certification or six years of hands-on experience with certification and a bachelor's degree of computer science
  • You must have firewall experience and specifically exposure to CheckPoint Firewalls.
  • Switching experience, specifically Arista and/or Cisco
  • AWS networking products
  • Must have experience maintaining and managing Wireless LANs
  • Extensive knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), LAN/WAN systems, LAN protocols, VPN/SSL solutions, and Antivirus/Malware solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge on Datacenter Operations
  • Storage Area Networks (SANs)
  • Needs to be self-motivated and eager to dive in and make a difference.
  • Microsoft Server and Linux server experience
  • Active Directory, DHCP, DNS
  • Virtualization experience
  • Flexibility to work with US, Asia & Europe time zones
  • Certified in one of the following areas 
  • CCIE: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert
  • CCNP: Cisco Certified Network Professional
  • CompTIA Network+
