Benny Czarny is the Founder and CEO of OPSWAT, a leading cyber security firm with over 1,000 customers, 150 employees, and 7 offices worldwide. Founded with personal investment in 2002 to offer a unique, market-driven approach to security application design and development, OPSWAT has been breaking new ground in the field of cyber security for more than 15 years. Most notably, OPSWAT has the distinction of protecting the majority of nuclear facilities in the US. Other key customers include, American Express, Coca-Cola, HP, Raytheon, US Bank, Chevron, GE Aviation and F5 Networks. Benny has over 20 years of experience in successfully identifying market needs and building, marketing, and selling innovative cloud-based cyber security products and solutions. From the early days of computer viruses, he was interested and involved in the fields of encryption, network operations, and security vulnerabilities detection and research. Prior to founding OPSWAT, Benny held technical leadership positions at NetManage, Netect and BindView. Benny earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Technion-Machon Technologi Le' Israel.
Patrick Tan joined OPSWAT in 2010 and drives the company's operations towards continuous improvements, effectiveness, and efficiencies. Patrick manages the company's activities in finance, accounting, human resources, and operations. Patrick brings expertise in organizational development and administration, accounting systems, internal controls, financial and tax reporting, cash management, and human capital retention and development. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Patrick held management positions at Ensenta Corporation, Ramsell Corporation, Dorado Corporation, and the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Patrick earned a Bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the California State University, East Bay.
Senior Vice President of Business Development
Tom Mullen joined OPSWAT in 2004 and manages the company's OEM sales and business development activities. Tom brings expertise in negotiating transactions with and managing programs for vendors, customers, and alliance partners and is responsible for growing our business line for network management, system toolkits, and compliance detection technologies. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Tom practiced law and held management positions in sales, marketing and business development at Apple Computer, CNET Networks (now CBS Interactive) and GreenBorder Technologies (now Google). Tom earned a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.
Vice President of Professional Services and Support
Dan Lanir joined OPSWAT as Director of Professional Services and Support in early 2012. Dan is responsible for developing and growing the company’s global-class technical support and professional services business. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Dan worked at Oracle for 19 years, where he held leadership positions in both services and support with responsibilities that included running complex multi-location software deployment projects, directing global support desks, and managing domestic and international customer relationships. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Engineering.
Vice President of Product Management
Szilard Stange joined OPSWAT in 2014 to lead Product Management for our next generation Metadefender product and now manages the entire Metadefender product family. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Szilard held many engineering and product management positions in the IT security industry and helped create many anti-malware products, next generation firewalls and security monitoring products at BalaBit and VirusBuster. Szilard brings expertise in enterprise level security software definition and development. Szilard holds a Master's degree from the University of Pannonia.

Yiyi Miao joined OPSWAT in 2009 as a Software Engineer in the company’s Research & Development Engineering Team. Yiyi was promoted to Director of Software Engineering in 2014 and manages the development team responsible for delivering emerging cloud/client applications across multiple OS and mobile platforms with a primary goal of providing a network security management platform for IT and security professionals focused on advanced threat detection and compliance enforcement. Yiyi earned a Bachelor's degree of Biomedical Engineering from Shanghai University in China and a Master's degree of Computer Science from San Francisco State University.
Taeil Goh joined OPSWAT in 2008 as a Software Engineer in the company’s Research & Development Engineering Team. Taeil was promoted to Director of Software Engineering in 2014 and leads the development team for Metadefender Core, Metadefender Kiosk, and Metadefender Cloud, a product family that delivers fast file scanning using multiple engines and file filtering that help organizations protect against zero day attacks. Taeil earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University.
Senior Director of Software Engineering
Jianpeng Mo joined OPSWAT in 2011 as a Software Analyst Lead in the company’s Research & Development Engineering Team. Jianpeng was promoted to Software Engineering Manager in 2014 and leads OPSWAT's development teams for software management toolkits, OESIS and AppRemover. He specializes in developing modern concept products, leading the engineering groups in solving unique and difficult technical problems. Jianpeng received his M.S. from New York University with a major in Electrical Engineering.
General Manager of OPSWAT Timisoara
Alin Besnea joined OPSWAT as a Software Engineer in 2015. Alin is responsible for the client aspect of OPSWAT's Cloud Access Security project and is in charge of the operations of OPSWAT's office in Romania. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Alin held engineering and leadership positions in gaming companies and was the cofounder of 2o.com, a game studio known for the multiplayer game Blast Busters. Alin earned his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara.
