  • Automatic scanning – Whenever media (CD ROM/DVD, USB device, etc.) is attached to an MD4M protected device
  • Simultaneous multi-engine scanning – Scan media using multiple anti-malware products
  • Archive scanning – All common archiving methods are fully supported by the system: compression (zip, rar, etc.), installers (MSI, NSIS), embedded files in documents (Office, PDF), and many others
  • Automatic updates – Scanning engines do not have to be connected to the internet. When new definition data files are available, the updated data is sent directly to the scanning engines from the management console and automatically installed
  • Scan logging – Detailed history of all scans performed by the device are recorded
  • File type detection – Verification of a file extension's accuracy is performed to prevent spoofing
  • Supported operating systems –  Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7
  • Custom post actions – Create specific rules for the handling of files after scan completion
  • Custom engines – Integration for your proprietary DLP or AV scanning solutions (sample engine code is available)
  • Scan password protected media – MD4M is able to scan password protected archive files and USB media

Deployment

MD4M is available either as stand-alone software for integration into your own solution, or as a complete scanning station kiosk available through one of our resellers. In either deployment, the user’s experience is always simple and intuitive.
