There is no cost for OPSWAT Certification.
For a basic submission to the OPSWAT Certification Program, please provide us with the product installer and one-year licenses for 5-10 users by contacting certification@opswat.com. Submissions are received according to our terms of service.
OPSWAT Certification provides numerous benefits, including reduced support costs, increased product visibility, and increased marketing opportunities.
OPSWAT Certification does not expire. Once your product is certified, that version maintains its status as a certified application. Future versions need to be submitted separately for OPSWAT Certification.
OPSWAT Certified Partners are software vendors who have received certification for at least one application in the past 12 months. You can become an OPSWAT Certified Partner by submitting your application and working with OPSWAT towards certification for that application.
OPSWAT has been certifying security applications for interoperability since 2007.
Currently, OPSWAT offers certification for consumer and enterprise versions of these types of endpoint applications: antiphishing, antispyware, antivirus, backup, data loss prevention, desktop sharing, device access control, firewall, hard disk encryption, health agent, instant messaging, patch management, URL filtering, virtual machine, VPN client
Products submitted for OPSWAT Certification are certified for each category that applies to the product’s capabilities. A security suite can receive different certification levels for multiple categories.
Many of the solutions that utilize the OESIS Framework are used by system administrators that require support for particular functions (such as “Is protection enabled”). If these functions are not implemented by OPSWAT for an individual application, end users of that application will not be able to pass the system administrator's policy. For maximum compatibility with various solutions and access policies, vendors need to work with OPSWAT to ensure that the required functions are supported. Receiving OPSWAT Certification at the silver or gold level requires that you assist OPSWAT in implementing the functions listed in our certification criteria. You can provide us with APIs, command lines, registry keys, or log files that we can utilize to implement the functions listed.
OPSWAT Certification is particular to a specific product version. If you are releasing a major update to your product, you need to submit it to OPSWAT to receive certification for that version. For minor updates, it is a good idea to submit to OPSWAT to ensure that your industry-wide compatibility remains intact.
