Being OPSWAT Certified means that a product will be interoperable with any technology solution employing the OESIS Framework (see this partial list of solutions). Using an OPSWAT Certified product significantly decreases the chances of compatibility issues during network connections. Gold certified products are integrated more thoroughly into the OESIS Framework and will be less likely to be excluded by your system administrator's access policy. In addition, OPSWAT Certified Partners are committed to continued interoperability and will work with OPSWAT to enable pre-release support for new versions of their products.
Suppose your company has an access policy allowing employees remote access to the network only if the employee’s computer has an antivirus installed with current virus definitions and has had a full system scan in the last five days. In order to access your company’s network, only OPSWAT Gold or Silver Certified products are verified to fulfill the policy requirements. Products with these levels of certification are thoroughly integrated so that information such as the last full system scan time is retrievable and verifiable. Products without this full integration will not be able to provide the appropriate information, even if the last full scan was yesterday.
You will also experience fewer compatibility issues when a new version of your OPSWAT Gold Certified product is released. The OPSWAT Certified Partner who develops your product is committed to partnering with OPSWAT to provide us access to their new product versions before they are released. This advance access allows us to provide support for that new version earlier, eliminating compatibility issues that would arise with non-certified products.
OPSWAT performs rogue tests on all products submitted for certification. Before becoming OPSWAT Certified, products are checked for malware and for providing the protection advertised, so that you can be assured that OPSWAT Certified products are not scareware.
More details about how OPSWAT Certification influences your compatibility are available on our Why Certification Matters page.
