San Francisco, California, and Innsbruck, Austria, January 8, 2010 -- OPSWAT, Inc., a leading provider of software development tools, today announced that it has partnered with AV-Comparatives, provider of independent testing data for security products and services.
This partnership extends the OPSWAT OESIS Framework’s ability to provide software engineers and IT professionals with enhanced software manageability by combining data from AV-Comparatives’ extensive testing and award program to easily identify antivirus solutions that have received on-demand malware detection certification.
“While an administrator may be aware of the need to enforce a policy to allow only the most effective antivirus applications’ access to a network, it is often unclear how to achieve this goal,” said Andreas Clementi, CEO of AV-Comparatives. “As a leading independent testing agency, AV-Comparatives is pleased to be able to offer our thorough, high quality, wide-ranging and innovative testing results as a standard.”
50 Million End Users to Benefit
OPSWAT’s OESIS, a robust software manageability framework, enables manageability of a wide variety of third party security software applications including anti-spyware, antivirus, personal firewalls and hard disk encryption products. Solutions powered by the OESIS Framework are deployed across multiple operating systems with over 50 million endpoint installations worldwide.
“OPSWAT brings innovation to the market and solves an important problem,” said Benny Czarny, president and CEO, OPSWAT, Inc. “With AV-Comparatives’ testing data, along with data from West Coast Labs and ICSA Labs integrated in the network management console, systems administrators will not need to go through a manual process of reading detailed testing charts before creating network compliance or manageability policies. In addition to identifying interoperable applications, administrators can now focus on a product by its capabilities. Knowing which products have successfully completed independent testing makes the purchase process that much easier.”
AV Comparatives’ data will also be available to users running the Am I OESIS OK? diagnostic utility. This utility analyzes the installed applications on an endpoint system and provides information about any interoperability or quality certifications they may have received.
