Metascan 2.7.3 Released

We are delighted to announce that Metascan, our multiscanning antivirus integration SDK has been updated to version 2.7.3.
This release primarily adds a number of enhancements. Especially in regards to Metascan's Remote Client capabilities. It also improves the ClamWin engine (see update features below).
We always encourage Metascan users upgrade to the latest version. It is highly recommended that any customer using ClamAV/ClamWin engines bundled with previous version of Metascan upgrade to the 2.7.3 release.
Previous versions of Metascan are using ClamAV/ClamWin version 0.94 or older. These versions have reached end of life and will not receive any new definition updates.

  • Updated ClamWin engine to version 0.95
    • Added malware detection in archives hidden inside other files (eg. images)
    • Improved scanning of RAR and CAB archives, including encrypted archives
  • Improved performance with Windows 2008 and Windows 7
    • Added support of manual updates and fixed a license activation bug
  • Added sample codes for Remote Client (C#, ASP .net, and C++)
  • Improved error reporting for Remote Client
