Benny Czarny

President and CEO

Benny Czarny founded OPSWAT, Inc. in 2002 to offer a unique, market-driven approach to security application design and development.  Benny has over 18 years experience in successfully identifying market needs and building, marketing and selling innovative products and solutions.  Prior to founding OPSWAT, Benny held technical leadership positions at NetManage, Netect and BindView. Benny earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Tom Mullen

Vice President of Business Development

Tom Mullen joined OPSWAT in 2004 and manages the company's OEM sales and business development activities. Tom brings expertise in negotiating transactions with and managing programs for vendors, customers and alliance partners. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Tom practiced law and held management positions in sales, marketing and business development at Apple Computer, CNET Networks (now CBS Interactive) and GreenBorder Technologies (now Google). Tom earned a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.

Chris Kennedy

Vice President of Information Technology

Chris Kennedy joined the OPSWAT management team in 2011 to lead the management and growth of the OPSWAT Information Technology infrastructure and customer-facing services.  Chris brings years of expertise in IT systems and network architecture, global IT and business management, project management, compliance, security, data center and network operations management, vision, strategy and innovation.  Chris’s technical competencies include server administration, virtualization technologies, storage, data center consolidation and networking.  Prior to joining OPSWAT, Chris served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of a federal government agency in San Francisco for 5 years.  Before serving as a Federal CIO, Chris also was the Global IT Director for two startups, OpenTV and Synarc, which operate worldwide in the US, EMEA and the Pacific Rim.  Chris earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.  

Tausheet Antani

Chief Technology Officer - Cloud Technologies

Tausheet Antani joined OPSWAT in 2003 and manages the company's R&D. Tausheet brings expertise in design, development and R&D processes. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Tausheet held R&D positions in Teknovus and Summit Networks. Tausheet earned a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

Patrick Tan

Chief Financial Officer

Patrick Tan joined OPSWAT in 2010 and drives the company's activities and overall company operations towards continuous improvements, effectiveness, and efficiencies. Patrick manages the company's activities in finance, accounting, human resources, and information technology. Patrick brings expertise in organizational development and administration, accounting systems, internal controls, financial and tax reporting, cash management, and human capital retention and development. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Patrick held management positions at Ensenta Corporation, Ramsell Corporation, Dorado Corporation, Sagent Technology, and the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Humboldt State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the California State University, East Bay. Patrick is a Certified Public Accountant and is an active member of the California Society of CPAs.

Jeff Garon

Director of Sales and Product Marketing

Jeff Garon joined OPSWAT in 2010 to manage the company's marketing department and transitioned in 2012 to manage direct sales and product marketing. Prior to OPSWAT, Jeff worked as a Producer in the marketing department of Esurance, Inc., focusing on project management, online marketing, SEO and research. Jeff has also held positions at Seagate Technology, the International Trade Development Center, and the Irish Intercontinental Bank. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration / Marketing from California State University, Chico, including a minor in Italian Language Studies.

Dan Lanir

Director of Professional Services and Support

Dan Lanir joined OPSWAT as Director of Professional Services and Support in early 2012. Dan previously worked at Oracle for 19 years, where he held leadership positions in both services and support with responsibilities that included running complex multi-location software deployment projects, directing global support desks, and managing domestic and international customer relationships. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Engineering.

Anish Patankar

Director of Product Management

Anish Patankar joined OPSWAT in 2012 as Director of Product Management. He has a passion for new product development and leads the product strategy for all OPSWAT solutions. Prior to OPSWAT, he worked as Senior Manager, Product Development at Philips Healthcare driving the delivery of innovative healthcare solutions. Anish has also held positions at Siemens and Infimed (now Varian). Anish earned his M.B.A. from the University of California and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Lauren Richardson-Berg

Human Resource Manager

Lauren Richardson-Berg joined the company in early 2012 and was quickly promoted to office manager and then human resource manager. Before joining OPSWAT she worked as a project manager for various commercial janitorial companies and oversaw several large projects including Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre, Embarcadero Center and multiple buildings in the Bay Area. She graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and also received her Master’s in Business Administration from Golden Gate University.

Yiyi Miao

Software Engineering Manager

Yiyi Miao joined OPSWAT's R&D team in 2009 and now manages the team responsible for delivering emerging client applications across multiple OS and mobile platforms. Yiyi earned a Bachelor's degree of Biomedical Engineering from Shanghai University in China and a Master's degree of Computer Science from San Francisco State University.

Taeil Goh

Software Engineering Manager

Taeil Goh joined OPSWAT in 2008 as a Software Engineer and now leads the development team for Metascan, MetaDefender for Media, and Metascan Online. Taeil earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University. He spends his free time playing tennis and developing iOS applications.

Elisse Lockhart

Marketing Manager

Elisse Lockhart joined OPSWAT in 2010 and now manages the company's marketing team. Prior to joining OPSWAT, Elisse held project management and administrative roles at several companies in the financial, healthcare and education industries. Elisse earned her Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from Dartmouth College with minors in German and Mathematics.

William H. Nguyen, Ph.D.

Director of Research

William H. Nguyen, Ph.D., joined OPSWAT in 2012 and leads the development of advanced technologies for mobile platforms, network security, cloud-computing, data mining, big data management, and massively scalable software architecture. Prior to OPSWAT, Bill founded 3 startups in the areas of search engine technology, massively scalable information platform, VoIP and social networks. Bill was the Alfred P. Sloan Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at Harvard University from 2002-2006, and the Institutional Doctoral Fellow in Computational Science and Engineering at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from 1999-2002.
